If in several cities of the Kingdom we know insecurity, due to the Tcharmil phenomenon or for other human reasons, in Dakhla, this insecurity is caused by the hordes of stray dogs that roam the streets of this city and which, even if they have not yet attacked passers-by, constitute, however, a source of worry and fear in certain neighbourhoods of the city.
The presence of these hordes of stray dogs has been the subject of several complaints addressed by the inhabitants of different neighbourhoods to the municipal services, imploring them to put an end to their fears by ridding the landscape of these dangerous animals that dispute the pavements with them and monopolise the dumps to which they cannot access, they say, for fear of being bitten by these mastiffs, and that is without mentioning the disturbance caused by their barking and the excrement that litters the pavements. The inhabitants deplore this situation and ask for a rapid intervention by the concerned municipal services.
