Oued Eddahab-Lagouira awarded

Oued Eddahab-Lagouira awarded

The Dakhla cooperative for the pasteurisation and packaging of camel milk was designated as the best camel milk production unit, during the International Agricultural Exhibition of Meknès, in its last edition. The president of this cooperative, Lahcen Bensi, received his trophy from the hands of H.R.H. Prince Moulay Rachid, in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries and numerous personalities from the world of industry and agriculture. It should be noted that this cooperative, which has since become an industrial unit that is part of the Regional Agricultural Plan of the Oued Eddahab-Lagouira region, was created in 2010 and has a cheese factory producing, a rare thing, cheese made from camel milk. Let us remember that the inhabitants of the Oued Eddahab-Lagouira region, one of the most extensive in the Kingdom with a total area of approximately 12 million hectares, have as their main activity the breeding of dromedaries which represents the second source for the agricultural sector in the region.
