The judicial police services in Dakhla recently arrested a drug trafficker. Informed of the presence of a major trafficker in the infamous Al-Ouakala neighbourhood, which became Al-Ouahda after the events in Dakhla, the judicial police set up surveillance that led to the arrest of this trafficker in possession of 86 slabs of chira, equivalent to 8.6 kg, according to sources close to the case. The suspect's interrogation and the continuation of the investigation led the judicial police to arrest two other individuals in possession of 6 kg of the same drug. These are small-time dealers belonging to a network that thrives on this traffic between Taounat and Dakhla, led by a man in his sixties arrested last summer in possession of two kg of chira intended for distribution, who is currently serving a sentence in the Laâyoune penitentiary from where he gives his instructions by telephone, our source indicates. Among the arrested traffickers is another man in his sixties, an ex-soldier, known along with his sons to the Dakhla judicial police for having been arrested for the same charge. Our source indicated that the arrested traffickers have been brought to justice.
