RAM strengthens its links with the Saharan provinces

After knocking on every door, the elected officials of the Saharan provinces have won their case for the reopening of the Casablanca-Guelmim and Tan Tan lines, closed in recent times, and the multiplication of Casablanca-Laâyoune and Casablanca-Dakhla flights, at prices within the reach of users.

Indeed, three agreements relating to the strengthening of the Casablanca-Dakhla, Casablanca-Laâyoune and Casablanca-Guelmim-Tan Tan air links were signed at the headquarters of the Ministry of Equipment and Transport in the presence of the CEO of Royal Air Maroc (RAM), the Ministers of the Interior, Equipment and Transport, Economy and Finance, the Director General of the Agency for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development of the Southern Provinces, as well as the three presidents of the regional councils of these provinces.

For the realisation of this project, the government has committed to providing an annual financial support of 87.5 million DH, through these agreements which have as their object the development of flights to these destinations, which will benefit from a daily rotation for the Laâyoune and Dakhla destinations and five flights per week for Guelmim and Tan Tan. The ticket price has been set at 600 DH for a one-way trip for Casablanca-Guelmim-Tan Tan, 800 DH for Casablanca-Laâyoune and 1,000 DH for Casablanca-Dakhla.

This agreement, its signatories hope, will give an additional impetus to the development efforts undertaken by the public authorities for the benefit of these regions.
