Towards the adoption of an Urban Mobility Plan

The city of Dakhla will be equipped with an Urban Mobility Plan (PDU), an approach intended to control urban traffic flows by 2020, which must reconcile fluidity and quality of traffic while ensuring the reduction of congestion and road safety.The city of Dakhla is experiencing constant momentum that calls for an anticipatory strategy to avoid future travel problems. In this sense, the Oued Eddahab-Ousserd Urban Agency, in consultation with local actors, has launched a strategic study focusing on urban traffic in the city over the coming years, following which a plan will be adopted to prevent problems that may arise due to exponential urban growth and the rapid expansion of the city.The study sets among its objectives the regulation of traffic in the city, the organisation of parking spaces for vehicles and lorries, and the calming of urban traffic.
