Preserving the intangible heritage of the Kingdom, which encompasses, among other things, popular arts which, due to the variety of their modes of expression, have exceptional cultural value. A varied artistic programme for the fourth Berkane Festival.

The fourth edition of the Berkane Popular Arts Festival, which will start on Thursday, offers a varied cultural and artistic programme, with musical evenings celebrating the heritage of the region and drawing from its popular arts.

Organised by the Ministry of Culture, notably in partnership with the prefecture and the urban commune of Berkane and the Oriental Development Agency, this Festival will see the participation of several local and regional troupes of Reggada, Allaoui, Menkouchi, Nhari, and Ahidous.

On the sidelines of the musical evenings, a conference will be organised which will bring together academics working in the field of popular arts around the theme "Reggada art: foundations and origins."

This edition will also be marked by the organisation of Zajal evenings with the participation of artists from the Oriental region.

This cultural and artistic event is part of the dynamic aimed at preserving the intangible heritage of the Kingdom, which encompasses, among other things, popular arts which, due to the variety of their modes of expression, have exceptional cultural value.

Spanning three days, the Festival aims to ensure the cultural and artistic influence of the city of Berkane and the Oriental in general, and to promote its rich heritage.
