Ben Ahmed is a city located 80 km from Casablanca on the road to Khouribga, in the province of Settat, between Berrechid and Khouribga. Ben Ahmed has long been a major agricultural centre, which is part of an agricultural and tourist region.

The city has a high school, two middle schools, a vocational training centre, an IUT (University Institute of Technology), and several primary schools as well as private educational institutes (primary, middle, and high school).

Ben Ahmed is equipped with a district hospital containing an emergency department, a maternity ward, a general medicine and surgery department, a pneumophysiology sector, and a diagnostic centre for consultations in paediatrics and obstetrics-gynaecology. The city also has an urban health centre, several private medical practices, and about a dozen pharmacies.
