Timitar Festival: Agadir, a setting for world music

Agadir, the capital of Souss, is preparing to host the 11th edition of the Timitar Signs and Culture Festival, scheduled from 18 to 21 June 2014. Faithful to its spirit of celebrating Amazigh music as an expression of Moroccan cultural diversity, Timitar has become, over the editions, the unmissable meeting place for music and singing. This year, the organisers have pulled out all the stops to offer Moroccans a very eclectic array of big headliners. Hence a remarkable programme that honours all genres of music. As the organisers specify: "for eleven years, this festival has illustrated its desire to make culture accessible and free to the general public by offering a diversified programme reflecting the very spirit of the festival".
