Classified Tourist Accommodation Establishments (EHTC) in the Tangier-Assilah prefecture recorded more than 1.5 million overnight stays by the end of last October, according to the National Tourism Observatory (ONT).
Thus, tourist accommodation establishments in Tangier-Assilah recorded 1,509,994 overnight stays during the first ten months of 2024, compared to 1,422,717 overnight stays during the same period of the previous year, an increase of 6%, the Observatory specified in its monthly statistics on tourism trends, noting that the occupancy rate of these establishments stood at 54%.
For the month of October alone, EHTC in Tangier-Assilah posted 173,394 overnight stays with an occupancy rate of 58%, an increase of 23% year-on-year.
The Tangier destination has managed to maintain its position as the fourth most visited tourist destination nationally, after Marrakech (8.43 million overnight stays), Agadir (5.49 million overnight stays), and Casablanca (1.81 million overnight stays), while Fes came in fifth position with 793,000 overnight stays.
It should be noted that Morocco recorded 24.1 million overnight stays by the end of October 2024, an increase of 10% compared to the same period in 2023.
