Territorial collectivities now have their own association

Territorial collectivities now have their own association

Meeting in a constituent assembly last Saturday, civil servants of the territorial collectivities under the Fès prefecture proceeded to create a social works association open to agents and retirees of local collectivities.

A social works association for civil servants of the territorial collectivities under the Fès prefecture has just been born. It was created at the end of a constituent general assembly, held last Saturday, in an overflowing hall in the spiritual capital on the theme "Social works, a pillar for the role of the communal civil servant in sustainable local development". Open to all agents and retirees of the local collectivities of the prefecture, this association, whose headquarters is established in Fès, declares itself "independent and without political, trade union, ideological, religious or ethnic orientations".

The association plans to create coordinations in other urban and rural communes under the prefecture, with the possibility of opening up to local collectivities of the entire Fès-Meknès region and other regions. Its main objectives are to organize and sponsor social, cultural, and sporting activities for the benefit of all active or retired members in order to forge bonds of solidarity and fraternity. It intends to work towards the construction

of a recreational complex including educational facilities, rides and children's games, a swimming pool, a café and a restaurant, as well as a function hall that all members will benefit from. The association also aspires to provide collective transport means to its members, to create and manage cooperatives, and to carry out, with partners, housing projects to facilitate the acquisition of equipped plots of land for members according to criteria established by the internal regulations. The new structure also plans to provide social assistance, according to needs and priorities, and to conclude agreements with doctors, hospital establishments, and analysis laboratories to ensure various medical services for members. It also plans to provide

services in terms of holiday camps, summer holidays, trips, and excursions. During the constituent general assembly, the numerous participants debated and adopted the association's statutes unanimously. Likewise, they appointed an administrative council composed of 83 members responsible for electing a president of the steering bureau and forming sectoral commissions.
