The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the week from December 30 to January 3 on a rise, with its main index, the MASI, increasing by 5.92% to 15,516.3 points (pts).
The MASI.20, which reflects the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, climbed 6.25% to 1,257.88 pts, and the MASI.ESG, an index of companies with the best ESG rating as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, gained 4.94% to 1,083.78 pts.
The MASI Mid and Small Cap, a thematic index that calculates the performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, advanced by 8.09% to 1,612.39 pts.
In terms of sectors, the “Transport” (+19.7%), “Real Estate” (+15.09%), and “Agri-food Industries” (+13.55%) indices achieved the best performances of the week.
Conversely, the “Forestry and Paper” (-3.23%) and “Leisure and Hotels” (-0.68%) sectors recorded the sharpest declines.
Trading exceeded 4.76 billion dirhams (MMDH), carried out mainly on the Central “Equities” market and dominated by transactions on BCP with a 12.86% share of the total volume, Attijariwafa Bank (11.59%), and Douja Prom Addoha (10.02%).
Market capitalization stood at nearly 787.17 MMDH.
Regarding individual stocks, Jet Contractors (+20.67% to 2,160 DH), CTM (+19.7% to 1,086 DH), Zellidja S.A (+18.38% to 114.4 DH), Disty Technologies (+18.37% to 290 DH), and Alliances (+18.24% to 525 DH) posted the strongest gains.
Conversely, the sharpest declines were recorded by Dari Couspate (-7.76% to 3,400 DH), M2M Group (-3.82% to 529 DH), Med Paper (-3.23% to 20.7 DH), Réalisations Mécaniques (-2.2% to 400 DH), and Rebab Company (-1.96% to 100 DH).
