The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed higher on Monday, with its main index, the MASI, rising by 0.23% to 15,912.65 points (pts).
The MASI 20, an index grouping the 20 most liquid stocks, and the MASI ESG, an index of companies with the best ESG rating published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, each gained 0.25% to 1,291.16 pts and 1,113.99 pts, respectively.
Similarly, the MASI Mid and Small Cap, which measures the performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, strengthened by 0.06% to 1,645 pts.
Internationally, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 and FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid indices gained 0.16% to 14,864.29 pts and 0.1% to 13,415.83 pts, respectively.
Conversely, the forestry and paper (-2.41%), chemical (-2.18%), and pharmaceutical industry (-1.39%) sectors posted the sharpest declines.
The trading volume reached more than 206 million dirhams (MDH), carried out mainly on the central market and dominated by transactions on Cosumar (38.45 MDH), CMGP Group (20.72 MDH), and LafargeHolcim Maroc (20.63 MDH).
The market capitalization stood at 809.74 billion dirhams.
On the stock front, Stroc Industrie (+6.1% to 49.39 DH), Zellidja S.A (+6% to 149.4 DH), Lesieur Cristal (+5.42% to 290 DH), Fenie Brossette (+4.55% to 138 DH), and Cosumar (+4.52% to 208 DH) achieved the best performances.
In contrast, the sharpest declines were recorded by Microdata (-4.8% to 652.1 DH), Rebab Company (-3.33% to 87 DH), Maghreb Oxygène (-2.93% to 265 DH), Med Paper (-2.41% to 22.25 DH), and SNEP (-2.13% to 644 DH).
