The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the week of 06 to 10 January in the green, its main index, the MASI, rising by 2.32% to 15,875.76 points (pts).
The MASI.20, which reflects the performance of the share prices of the 20 most liquid companies, climbed by 2.39% to 1,287.92 pts and the MASI.ESG, an index of companies that receive the best ESG rating, as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, gained 1.96% to 1,644.07 pts. The MASI Mid and Small Cap, a thematic index that calculates the performance of the share prices of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, for its part, advanced by 2.53% to 1,111.23 pts.
In terms of sectors, the indices “Portfolio-holding companies (+12.13%), “Mining” (+11.88%) and “Forestry and paper” (+10.14%) achieved the best performances of the week. Conversely, the “Real estate investment companies” (-1.73%) and “Oil and gas” (-1.2%) sectors recorded the sharpest declines. Trading exceeded 4.02 billion dirhams (MMDH), carried out mainly on the Central “Equities” market and dominated by transactions on Attijariwafa Bank with a share of 10.59% of the total volume, CMGP Group (9.88%) and Sodep-Marsa Maroc (7.6%). Market capitalisation stood at more than 808.5 MMDH.
In terms of individual stocks, Fenie Brossette (+25.59% to 132 DH), Zellidja S.A (+23.21% to 140.95 DH), Managem (+15.86% to 3,360 DH), S.M Monétique (+15.16% to 289 DH) and Résidences Dar Saada (+13.78% to 87.61 DH) posted the strongest gains.
Conversely, the sharpest declines were recorded by Rebab Company (-10% to 90 DH), Involys (-3.81% to 101 DH), Lesieur Cristal (-3.47% to 275.1 DH), M2M Group (-2.25% to 517.1 DH) and Aradei Capital (-2.01% to 478 DH).
