The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed higher on Thursday, with its main index, the MASI, rising by 0.3% to 14,654.88 points (pts).
The MASI 20, an index grouping the 20 most liquid stocks, advanced by 0.38% to 1,184.11 pts and the MASI ESG, an index of companies with the best ESG rating published by Moody's ESG Solutions, gained 0.17% to 1,034.89 pts.
Similarly, the MASI Mid and Small Cap, which measures the performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, strengthened by 0.89% to 1,493.31 pts.
Internationally, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 and FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid indices rose by 0.34% to 13,663.17 pts and 0.37% to 12,298.65 pts, respectively.
At the sectoral level, the 'Transport' index (+9.99%) recorded the strongest increase, followed by the 'Real Estate Participation and Promotion' indices (+3.14%) and 'Computer Hardware, Software and Services' (+1.79%).
On the other hand, the engineering and industrial equipment goods (-4.02%), forestry and paper (-1.97%), and oil and gas (-1.46%) sectors showed the sharpest declines.
The trading volume reached 1.5 billion dirhams (MMDH), achieved mainly on the central market and dominated by transactions on Attijariwafa Bank (317.05 million dirhams - MDH), Banque Centrale Populaire (215.19 MDH), and CFG Bank (106.76 MDH). The market capitalisation stood at 749.06 MMDH.
On the stock front, CTM (+9.99% to 824.90 DH), Zellidja SA (+6% to 96.64 DH), Douja Promotion Groupe Addoha (+5.56% to 38 DH), Afma (+4.56% to 1,124 DH), and Microdata (+3.01% to 650 DH) achieved the best performances.
Conversely, the sharpest declines were recorded by Stroc Industrie (-7.37% to 41.5 DH), Involys (-2.64% to 97.22 DH), SMI (-2.21% to 1,990 DH), Immorente Invest (-2.16% to 90 DH), and CIH (-1.98% to 392 DH).
