The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed in the red on Wednesday, its main index, the MASI, falling by 0.16% to 14,611.23 points (pts).
The MASI 20, an index grouping the 20 most liquid stocks, and the MASI ESG, an index of companies with the best ESG rating published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, fell by 0.22% to 1,179.6 pts and 0.09% to 1,033.17 pts, respectively.
Similarly, the MASI Mid and Small Cap, which measures the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, fell by 0.27% to 1,480.08 pts.
At the international level, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 and FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid indices lost 0.24% to 13,616.42 pts and 12,253.36 pts, respectively.
At the sectoral level, the “Distributors” (-1.46%), “Electricity” (-0.73%), and “Transport Services” (-0.57%) indices recorded the sharpest declines.
Conversely, the agricultural industry sector (+2.49%) posted the strongest increase, ahead of the industrial engineering and capital goods (+2.24%) and leisure and hotel (+1.28%) sectors.
Trading reached more than 259.58 million dirhams (MDH), carried out mainly on the central “Shares” market and dominated by transactions on BCP (93.63 MDH), Itissalat Al-Maghrib (44.18 MDH), and CMGP Group (32.49 MDH).
Market capitalisation exceeded 748.31 billion dirhams.
In terms of individual stocks, the sharpest declines were recorded by Afma (-4.87% to 1,075 DH), Microdata (-2.92% to 631 DH), CDM (-2.71% to 934 DH), Auto Hall (-2.47% to 64.35 DH), and Jet Contractors (-1.70% to 1,730 DH).
Conversely, Agma (+6% to 6,875 DH), Maghreb Oxygene (+5.89% to 249.95 DH), Stroc Industrie (+4.19% to 44.8 DH), Fenie Brossette (+3.3% to 109.5 DH), and Ib Maroc.com (+2.88% to 33.95 DH) posted the strongest increases.
