The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the week of December 09 to 13 in decline, with its main index, the MASI, falling 0.39% to 14,704.81 points (pts).
The MASI.20, which reflects the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, dropped 0.58% to 1,193.18 pts, and the MASI.ESG, an index of companies that have obtained the best ESG rating, as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, lost 0.54% to 1,044.07 pts.
Bucking the trend, the MASI Mid and Small Cap, a thematic index that evaluates the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, gained 1.05% to 1,480.79 pts.
At the sectoral level, the "Engineering and Industrial Equipment" (-2.39%), "Real Estate Participation and Promotion" (-1.9%), and "Health" (-1.59%) indices recorded the sharpest declines.
Conversely, the best performances were achieved by the Leisure and Hotels (+8.59%), Chemicals (+4.07%), and Beverages (+2.57%) sectors.
Regarding trading, it exceeded 5.8 billion dirhams (MMDH), carried out mainly on the Central market (Shares) and dominated by transactions on Alliances with a share of 11.94%, Résidences Dar Saada (11.4%), and Attijariwafa Bank (8.74%). Market capitalization reached nearly 750 MMDH.
In individual values, S2M (-8.46% to 249 DH), M2M Group (-4.91% to 551 DH), Stroc Industrie (-4.34% to 43.9 DH), CIH (-2.9% to 404.9 DH), and Alliances (-2.86% to 441 DH) recorded the sharpest declines.
Conversely, the sharpest increases were posted by Risma (+8.59% to 227 DH), Résidences Dar Saada (+8.47% to 78.86 DH), Balima (+5.12% to 215.5 DH), SNEP (+4.29% to 605 DH), and Société des Boissons du Maroc (+3.35% to 348 DH).
