The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the week of December 23 to 27 in decline, with its main index, the MASI, falling by 0.5% to 14,648.53 points (pts).
The MASI.20, which reflects the performance of the prices of the 20 most liquid companies, dropped 0.59% to 1,183.92 pts and the MASI.ESG, an index of companies that receive the best ESG rating, as published by Moody's ESG Solutions, lost 0.86% to 1,032.74 pts.
The MASI Mid and Small Cap, a thematic index that calculates the performance of the prices of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, fell by 0.47% to 1,491.73 pts.
In terms of sectors, the "Electricity" (-5.71%), "Beverages" (-2.52%) and "Telecommunications" (-1.88%) indices recorded the sharpest declines.
Conversely, the "Transport" (+27.34%), "Portfolio and Holding Companies" (+3.74%) and "Real Estate" (+2.55%) sectors achieved the best performances of the week.
Trading exceeded 13.87 billion dirhams (MMDH), carried out mainly on the "Shares" Block market and dominated by transactions on Attijariwafa Bank with a 16.64% share of the total volume, BCP (16.41%) and Addoha (+8.01%).
Market capitalisation stood at more than 747.86 MMDH.
In terms of individual values, the sharpest declines were recorded by Sanlam Maroc (-9.97% to 1,679 DH), Taqa Morocco (-5.71% to 1,320 DH), Fenie Brossette (-5.41% to 104 DH), Oulmes (-5.15% to 1,233 DH) and Promopharm SA (-4.21% to 910 DH).
Conversely, CTM (+27.34% to 907.3 DH), AGMA (+6% to 6,875 DH), Zellidja S.A (+6% to 96.64 DH), Ib Maroc.com (+5.72% to 34.94 DH) and Addoha (+4.9% to 38.5 DH) posted the strongest gains.
