The commune of Sidi Mokhtar has two major events scheduled

Initiated by the Sidi Mokhtar Association for Culture and Arts in partnership with the commune council and the province of Chichaoua, the fourth Festival aims in particular to contribute to highlighting the economic and cultural potential of the Sidi Mokhtar commune, located between two major tourist hubs: Marrakech and Essaouira. This event also aims to stimulate a strong cultural dynamic, given the many assets the region possesses. The programme put together by the organisers includes, among other things, Tbourida (fantasia) performances with the participation of groups of horsemen from different regions of the Kingdom, sports competitions, and concerts by folk groups. Furthermore, held this year under the slogan "Protection of the Sloughi heritage", the third edition of the International Festival of Traditional Hunting is dedicated exclusively to falconry or hunting with a Sloughi. This sporting and cultural event, organised by the "Taghsrit" Association for Traditional Hunting of Sidi Mokhtar, will see the participation of several national associations from various regions of Morocco. Hunters from countries with a long tradition of this type of hunting will also be joining the festivities.

On the menu are a traditional shooting competition, a fox hunting competition with a Sloughi, a conference on the history and origin of the Sloughi breed, Tbourida performances, as well as exhibitions on "Hassani plastic art" and "pigeons", among others. This event is initiated in coordination with the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and the High Commission for Water and Forests and the Fight against Desertification.
