The Spanish company “Vueling” inaugurates the Barcelona-Fès flight

The Spanish low-cost company Vueling inaugurated on Wednesday the Barcelona-Fès-Barcelona air link, through a first flight of 70 passengers provided by an AirBus A320.

The new Barcelona-Fès-Barcelona route will be operated twice a week (Wednesday and Sunday).

A large reception was organized by the National Airports Office (ONDA) and the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) in honor of the passengers of this inaugural flight, who were invited to the traditional ceremony of mint tea tasting and cakes.

More than seven airlines currently serve the spiritual city of Morocco.

Approximately 700,000 passengers passed through Fès-Saiss airport in 2012 and airport officials are counting on a traffic of 950,000 passengers in 2013.

The Irish low-cost company Ryanair inaugurated last April the Saint-Etienne-Fès-Nantes link, thus concretizing its commitment to make Fès-Saiss airport its first base outside of Europe.

In addition to flights to Arab and African capitals, Fès-Saïss airport is the starting point for daily flights to major European airports, including Seville, Lyon, London, Charleroi, Bergamo, and Frankfurt.
