A fire, which broke out on Wednesday evening in the Al-Hoceima National Park (rural commune of Rouadi), was contained on Saturday after ravaging nearly 30 hectares of vegetation. In a statement to the MAP, the provincial director of water and forests and the fight against desertification in Al Hoceima indicated that the flames, which did not cause major damage to the vegetation cover, essentially ravaged a thuja scrubland and a doum cover, noting that the causes behind this fire remain undetermined.
With an area of 48,000 ha, the Al-Hoceima National Park is located on the northern Mediterranean coast, west of the city of Al-Hoceima.
