Four workers perish in a work accident at the construction site of a thermal power plant in the province of Safi

Four workers, including 3 Moroccans and one Indonesian, lost their lives, and another was injured, on Sunday evening, in a work accident at the construction site of a thermal power plant in the rural commune of Ouled Salmane, in the province of Safi, it was learned from local authorities.

The accident occurred around 8:15 p.m. following a technical failure in the site's elevator, the same source added.

Immediately informed of this accident, the provincial and security authorities went to the scene of the tragedy accompanied by the provincial labour delegate, it was specified, noting that the bodies of the victims were transferred to the provincial morgue while the injured worker was evacuated to the Mohammed V Hospital in Safi.

An investigation has been opened by the Royal Gendarmerie services under the supervision of the public prosecutor's office.
