A new royal impetus for sustainable human development

With a strong ecological impact, this project will contribute to the protection of citizens' health, the preservation of the environment and the socio-economic development of the city, insofar as it provides the inhabitants with a pleasant living environment, puts an end to the risks of contamination that threatened the drinking water network and bathing waters, as well as the problem of flooding due to rainwater. With a total cost of 410 million dirhams, this important project consisted of the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, inaugurated on this occasion by the Sovereign, of the aerated lagoon type with a treatment capacity of 20,400 m3 per day, meeting the needs of the population of the city of Saïdia and its tourist resort.
