A medical team in Imilchil (Midelt province) has diagnosed 9 cases of cutaneous anthrax caused by proximity to cattle affected by the same pathology, the Ministry of Health indicated on Thursday, affirming that "this epidemiological situation is not worrying".
All these cases have been taken care of and are being treated with antibiotics, the ministry stressed in a press release, noting that local health and veterinary services have taken the necessary measures to contain the epidemic.
"This epidemiological situation is not worrying, in the sense that cutaneous anthrax is of bacteriological origin and can, in general, be treated," added the Department of Health, making it known that the ministry, in coordination with the relevant services, is closely monitoring the situation and will inform public opinion of any development.
