Launch of a site in favour of the disabled
Morocco has just celebrated, on 30 March, the National Day for Persons with Disabilities. Each year, this date constitutes an opportunity to take stock of the situation and living conditions of this segment of society. The lack of accessibility to public spaces is among the main obstacles encountered by disabled people. And this is the case in the city of Fez, where it is particularly difficult, if not impossible, for them to move around and access various spaces and infrastructures. This damning observation is corroborated by a study carried out in 2012 by about twenty young people, thanks to the support of the USAID SANAD project. According to this study, only 5% of spaces in the city of Fez are accessible to people with reduced mobility.
