New shopping centre in Fez
The "Borj FEZ" shopping centre, the new Mall of the spiritual capital, located between the new city and the old Medina, was inaugurated on Thursday in Fez, during a grand ceremony.
Built on an area of 75,000 m2 with an investment of 400 million DH (excluding land cost), the city's commercial Mall hosts 80 international ready-to-wear brands, 15 restaurants and a hypermarket, as well as a 1,250 m2 children's play area. The project, designed according to an innovative vision, both functionally and architecturally, extends over three main levels and one level reserved for parking. This new urban hub dedicated to shopping and leisure has generated some 1,000 direct jobs and 2,000 indirect jobs. Located near historical sites, the Mall brings together the most prestigious and highly attractive brands and franchises for visitors. Commercially, "Borj FEZ" shows a 98% occupancy rate at opening, according to its managers, who are counting on 5.4 million visitors per year.
