31 dead and 9 injured in a head-on collision between a coach and a truck in the province of Tan-Tan

Thirty-one people lost their lives and nine others were injured in an accident that occurred on Friday morning in the province of Tan-Tan, we learn from the province's authorities.

The tragedy occurred around 07:00 at the level of the Chbika commune when a coach collided head-on with a semi-trailer truck, the same sources specify.

The nine injured, two of whom are in serious condition, were evacuated to the Hassan II Hospital in Tan-Tan, the same sources add.

Local authorities accompanied by units of the Royal Gendarmerie and Civil Protection went to the scene of the accident to carry out rescue operations.

A few hours after the tragedy, the authorities informed that two seriously injured people among the nine evacuated to the provincial hospital centre succumbed to their injuries, bringing to 33 the number of people killed in this accident.
