Thirty-three people lost their lives in the road accident that occurred on Friday morning in the province of Tan-Tan, following a head-on collision between a coach and a semi-trailer truck

Following the tragic traffic accident that claimed the lives of 33 people and in execution of the Very High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, the Minister of the Interior travelled this Friday to the province of Tan-Tan at the head of a delegation including, in particular, the Major General Inspector of Civil Protection, the Wali of the Guelmim-Es-Semara region, and the Governor of the province of Tan-Tan, indicates a statement from the Ministry of the Interior.

The delegation was informed on the spot of the circumstances of this accident while awaiting the official results of the ongoing investigation, as well as the measures taken by the competent authorities for the care of the injured, the statement specifies.

It was also informed of the progress of the operations to identify the bodies of the victims.

An investigation has been opened by the Royal Gendarmerie services under the authority of the competent public prosecutor's office in order to determine the exact circumstances of this tragedy, the statement adds.
