Horse racing: The horse Mayar wins the late HM Mohammed V GP

The horse Mayar, ridden by Stéphane Coerette, won the late HM Mohammed V Grand Prix for horse racing on Monday at the Anfa racecourse. Mayar, owned by the Royal stud farm, won this 2,400m race, reserved for all entire male horses and English thoroughbred mares aged 3 and over, in 2min 34sec, ahead of the horse Al Farazdak, ridden by Zakaria Irdalane and also owned by the Royal stud farm, while third place went to Shadow Skills, ridden by Gérard Rivases and also owned by the Royal stud farm. At the end of this race, the governor of the Casa-Anfa prefecture, Karim Kassi Lahlou, and the Director General of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Horse (SOREC), Omar Skali, presented the cup offered by HM King Mohammed VI to the owner, trainer and jockey of the winning horse. The program for this day included other events, including the M'hamed Laaroussi 2-year-old criterium prize (1,900m) for all entire male foals and 2-year-old fillies, which was won by the horse Singasong, owned by Kamal Daissaoui, followed by Khalafat, owned by Dr. Azeddine Sedrati, and by Hurry Storm from the Royal stud farm. The breeding prize (1,900m), reserved for entire male horses and Anglo-Arab mares aged 3 and over, was won by the horse Zaza, owned by the heirs of Zakaria Hakam, in 2min 13sec. The 2nd and 3rd places went to the horse Ado, owned by Lazrak Abdelhaq, and to Alfred Bogard, owned by Mohamed Lakjel.
