The Moroccan-Spanish project "Enomircamid", which aims to promote commercial exchanges and facilitate communication between economic promoters, was presented on Tuesday in Tetouan. Supervised by the Urban Commune of Tetouan and the Regional Council of Granada, the "Enomircamid" project, which will be implemented during the current year, aims to promote bilateral relations between the two countries, develop their commercial exchanges, facilitate communication between the economic promoters present in the said regions, and strengthen their economic and industrial ties. In a statement to the MAP, Merinda Maria Sabada, in charge of employment in Granada, specified that "this project will contribute to the economic take-off of the two regions as well as to job creation, in a difficult international context". According to the Spanish official, the project will also contribute to the improvement of the competitiveness of Moroccan and Spanish companies, as well as to the support of partnerships forged between economic actors on both shores, while accompanying industrial zones and guaranteeing companies of the said countries more openness to international markets. For his part, the president of the urban commune of Tetouan, Mohamed Idaomar, indicated that this project, which aims to further consolidate the "privileged relations" between the two countries, requires the establishment of an entrepreneurial environment, at the level of the two regions, capable of guaranteeing the exchange of experiences and communication between the promoters and businessmen of the said regions. "This project, which is in harmony with the development plan of the urban commune of Tetouan 2011-2016, will allow companies in the two regions to develop their economic activities on the European and African markets," he added. Furthermore, the project provides for technical and practical support for the entrepreneurs concerned, the organisation of periodic sectoral meetings between Moroccan entrepreneurs and their Spanish counterparts, as well as professional and sectoral workshops next October in Granada, in the presence of nearly 13 companies from the said regions working notably in agriculture, tourism, industry, and commerce. The project is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) up to 75%, as well as by the Regional Council of Granada (25%), within the framework of the Spain-North of Morocco cross-border cooperation programme.
