As part of its new approach, which consists of grouping pupils from different rural sectors into a single school, instead of operating through satellite classes within school groups that have not yielded satisfactory results, the Governor of the Taourirt province, Mohammed Heddan, inaugurated the province's second community school on Monday in the rural commune of Sidi Ali Bel Kacem. The new "Foum Alwad" school consists of five classrooms and a boarding school (Dar Talib) with a capacity of sixty beds. This school will serve several Douars in the rural commune of Sidi Ali Bel Kacem. It will also provide local education to children from the nearby military barracks, sparing them tiring journeys to the village of Debdou. These are pupils from one of the best schools in the province, "Project 5", who previously had to travel more than 30 km per day to continue their schooling. "The inauguration of this school came at the right time to save us from long journeys and allow us to work in better conditions," explained several of the 180 pupils who had already returned to their classes this Monday. With the start of the next school year, their number will reach nearly 300 pupils, who will be supervised by about fifteen teachers, according to the relevant services of the Ministry of National Education delegation in Taourirt.

"This new community school is the result of a partnership between the province of Taourirt (which ensured the construction of Dar Talib), the provincial delegation of National Mutual Aid (which is participating in the equipment of this boarding school), and the provincial delegation of the Ministry of National Education (which was in charge of the construction and equipment of five classrooms as well as the equipment, supervision, and management of the boarding school)," declared Jamal Meziane, provincial delegate for national education, to ALM. He added that "Foum Alwad is a school that covers an area of 1,500 m2 and whose construction work lasted eighteen months. The allocated budget is around 1,496,845 DH, with 820,850 DH as a contribution from the province of Taourirt".

It should be specified that the inauguration of this community school is part of the execution of the emergency programme measures relating to the expansion of educational provision, the reduction of school dropouts, the rationalisation of human resource management, and the abolition of multi-level classes. Likewise, the next 2012/2013 school year will be marked by the opening of two new community schools (in the rural communes of Ahl Oued Za and Machraâ Hammadi) and the launch of construction work for two others in the rural communes of Tancherfi and Sidi Lahcen. This will make the Taourirt delegation a pilot delegation in terms of community schools, but also in terms of the success of this experience, since the first community school in the province at Al Atf has been fully satisfactory.
