The musical troupe "Les amis de Laâroussi" performed on Saturday evening in Taounate,
at the opening of the fourth edition of the National Festival of El Aïta El Jabalia Arts.
The legendary troupe "Les amis de Laâroussi", named after the doyen and maestro of Taktouka Jabalia, Mohamed Laâroussi, revisited with brilliance a collection of the most beautiful songs of this captivating traditional popular art, thus enchanting music lovers and enthusiasts from various horizons. Subsequently, the group "Abidat R'ma" from Khouribga, the "Abdelmalek El Andaloussi ensemble" from Tangier and the "Ahmed El Guerfti troupe" from Tétouan took turns on stage before igniting the spectators with songs as spellbinding as each other. Initiated by the Ministry of Culture, this artistic event aims to preserve the art of El Aïta El Jabalia as an artistic component of the Moroccan cultural heritage and to highlight the enormous economic and tourist assets of the Taounate province.
Speaking on this occasion, Mohamed Kharraz, head of the Festivals division at the Ministry of Culture, stressed that this artistic event had become an unmissable cultural rendezvous, adding that El Aïta El Jabalia is an authentic Moroccan art that has developed for centuries across the various regions of the Kingdom as song and poetry. He also made it known that the Ministry of Culture has put in place a network of cultural and artistic festivals, some of which are of international dimension, in order to allow the opening of Moroccan culture to modern international experiences, to communicate with the other and to learn about the novelties of foreign countries in the matter, while expressing the willingness of his department to support all serious and professional artistic initiatives in the fields of theatre, culture and music.
Dedicated to the late artist Ahmed El Guerfti, this edition of the festival, organised in partnership with the Taounate province, stands out for a rich and diversified programming through the participation of national troupes. The festival programme provides for a panoply of cultural activities, shows and artistic evenings hosted by national stars and folk troupes from various regions of Morocco.
