The project has not reached its capacity

The Minister Delegate in charge of Water, Charafat Afilal, chaired a meeting last Monday in Tan-Tan with the city's elected officials devoted to the situation of the water and liquid sanitation sectors. The meeting focused on water cuts due to technical constraints experienced by the seawater desalination plant commissioned in March 2014, which required a budget of approximately 243 million DH. The operation of this project has not reached its maximum capacity to meet the needs of the population due to technical constraints and difficulties related to the operation of this infrastructure, lamented Charaf Afilal. The minister affirmed that sustained efforts were being deployed by the concerned services with a view to finding an appropriate solution to the problem of water cuts and ensuring the supply of this vital resource to the population under the best conditions. Regarding liquid sanitation, Afilal recalled, among other things, the project to extend the sanitation network to several neighbourhoods and the construction of a wastewater treatment plant.
