A socio-educational wind was blowing this weekend over Tahla. People who have engraved their names as well as their images in the minds of the sports public such as Nezha Bidouane, former world athletics champion, Mustapha Lakhssam, former world full-contact and kick-boxing champion, sowed joy among the crowds. The younger generations gave a warm welcome to the champions and former international footballers (Chemmami, Bouab, Badidi, Ouaddouch...). Dozens of requests for autographs and souvenir photos. Everyone appreciated this recognition towards this Moroccan sportswoman whom many officials have forgotten, namely Nezha Bidouane. "It is certain that today, our champion has encouraged dozens of girls to run and to continue their studies," declared Lahboub Ahjri, president and coach of the local athletics club. Everywhere she goes, slogans are chanted warmly: "Go Nezha, go Nezha". The Morocco Solidarity Association (AMS), initiator of this action, also intends to take advantage of it to fight more against school dropout. This association, in partnership with the Mustapha Lakhssam Foundation (Access) and the National Education delegation of Taza, has provided its help to schools and local associations. Outfits, balls, raincoats for the local football team, running outfits for the local athletics team (CUSTA), clothes for the benefit of the girls' home (Dar El fatate), a children's library in the student house (Dar Attalib), rehabilitation and walking bikes for the benefit of the local association in charge of children with specific needs, and school supplies, in addition to educational toys, for the preschool classes of the Moulay Abellah Chrif school. The Tahla middle school also benefited from this operation, through the equipping of a room for martial arts, at the initiative of the Mustafa Lakhssam Foundation (Access).
"A beautiful example of collective action... a success thanks to the involvement of everyone: inhabitants of the region, associations, local authorities, MEN delegation of Taza, volunteers, athletes, among others. In short, citizens mobilised for a better Morocco," underlined Ayad Lemhaouer, sponsor of this operation, on this occasion. Towards the afternoon, the public had an appointment with an athletics competition and a football match opposing former Tahla players to former international players. Result: a good-natured atmosphere that must be transformed into a will for in-depth work... with the perspective of making the city a terroir up to the aspirations of its population.
