The governor of the Sidi Slimane province, Lahoucine Amzal, and Ahmed Bitane, provincial delegate for Health, inaugurated, on Friday, the Mother and Child Health Service built at the Sidi Slimane Provincial Hospital (CHP) to ensure a better welcome for pregnant women and provide quality services to the mother and her newborn. On this occasion, Mr Amzal urged all those responsible to redouble their efforts so that all projects under construction see the light of day in accordance with the initially scheduled calendars and deadlines. He also asked all those responsible at the provincial level to take all necessary measures and decisions to overcome the delays recorded in the work of the CHP and to proceed with its equipment. Lahoucine Amzal also urged all doctors and staff to redouble their efforts to implement the various programmes of the Ministry of Health, in particular those forming part of the National Maternal and Child Health Plan and the National Mental Health Plan. For his part and in an exclusive statement to the newspaper "Le Matin du Sahara", Ahmed Bitane stated that "the reduction of maternal mortality is one of the axes of the Ministry of Health's 2012-2016 strategy. This project was carried out as part of a partnership between the provincial health delegation and the INDH. This national initiative granted an amount of 1,800,000 DH, including 1,000,000 DH for service equipment and 800,000 DH for the purchase of an ambulance equipped with all the necessary equipment for the transfer to a higher level in optimal conditions for the mother and her baby in case of complication. On the same occasion, I inform you that this ambulance is equipped with an incubator". Mr Bitane concluded that in the coming months, the provincial health delegation will proceed with the upgrading of the CHP.
