Eight members of the security forces were injured during two unauthorised demonstrations last Tuesday and Thursday in Sidi Ifni, according to local authorities.
A group of people held an unauthorised gathering on Thursday in front of the headquarters of the provincial police district of Sidi Ifni, during which they threw stones at the security forces, demanding the release of an individual arrested on April 30th for his involvement in acts of vandalism perpetrated on national road 12 connecting Sidi Ifni to Guelmim, the same source specifies.
Last Tuesday, it is recalled, a group of young people had disrupted traffic on the said road and attacked the security forces dispatched to the scene with stones.
After the customary warnings, the security forces intervened to disperse both demonstrations.
