Strengthening of sports infrastructure

Construction work on a type "A" local socio-sporting centre in the city of Lakhssass has reached a completion rate of 95%, with a budget estimated at 3.7 MDH financed within the framework of a partnership between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the municipality, the regional delegate of this department, Tahar Lansari, told MAP, adding that this project includes spaces reserved for children and young people, an indoor hall, a multi-sports field, and a small swimming pool.

Two similar centres will soon be installed in the city of Sidi Ifni and the Mirleft commune (9.8 MDH), he continued, specifying that the administrative and technical procedures have been finalised, awaiting the launch of the work. Future projects also include a local socio-sporting complex grouping three grass (synthetic) fields, which will be built in the city of Sidi Ifni with an estimated budget of 2.2 MDH, financed within the framework of a partnership between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the municipality, as well as an indoor hall with an area of 4,000 square metres (9 MDH), financed within the framework of a partnership between the Ministry, the Souss-Massa-Drâa regional council, and the Sidi Ifni municipal council. These projects will also include, according to the regional delegate, five collective sports fields, which will benefit, within the framework of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), the communes of Sbouya, Sidi M'barek, Boutroch, Ibder, and Imi Anfass. A reception centre will also be created in the city of Sidi Ifni with a budget of around 350,000 dirhams, financed within the framework of a partnership between the INDH and the Awrach Sidi Ifni Association.
