More than 7,000 people benefited from RAMED in 2012
The number of beneficiaries of free medical care under the Medical Assistance Scheme for the Economically Deprived (RAMED) in the province of Settat reached 7,532 people in 2012, according to local health authorities.Of this total, 3,669 people hold a RAMED card and 3,863 others have presented the receipt for this card, the same sources specify.Furthermore, the number of card applications submitted to the provincial unit in charge of the RAMED operation reached 31,906 by mid-December, with 18,123 coming from rural areas and 13,783 from urban areas.The operation to generalise RAMED in the province is expected to benefit some 154,742 people out of a total population of 595,165 in the province, it is recalled.Regarding health infrastructure, the province has 87 health units distributed across 11 urban health centres, including 3 centres with a maternity unit, and 76 centres and dispensarie…
