Rabat – The city of Rabat vibrated, Saturday, to the rhythm of the 2nd edition of the “Friends' Parade”, a motorcycle parade organised to celebrate the joint organisation of the 2030 World Cup by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.
Initiated by the Parallel Diplomacy Forum, in partnership with the Crete Atlas Club and the Solidarity Club for Professional Bikers in Morocco, this event brought together many motorcyclists, men and women, wearing the flags of the three host nations.
The procession started from Chellah Square, taking the coastal road before joining the city of Sale. In a festive atmosphere, the event was punctuated by the singing of the national anthem and musical performances.
In a statement to the press, the president of the Parallel Diplomacy Forum, Adil Chafik, indicated that this second edition of the “Friends' Parade” is placed under the sign: “Together, let us celebrate the honour of hosting the 2030 World Cup in Morocco, alongside Spain and Portugal”.
He added that the day took place in two stages, the first phase having started with a gathering of bikers from different regions of Morocco at Chellah, before the official launch of the parade.
As for the second phase, it consisted of a route through the iconic sites of the capital, such as the Mohammed V Mausoleum, Victory Avenue, and the Moulay Youssef Bridge, before concluding the journey in the city of Sale, where the breaking of the fast was planned.
For his part, the president of the Solidarity Club for Professional Bikers in Morocco, Mohamed El Hassnaoui, recalled that the Kingdom was officially designated as host of the 2030 World Cup, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, highlighting the club's commitment to making its contribution to support this global event.
The vice-president of the Moroccan Women's Motorcycle Club (Miss Moto), based in Casablanca, Nawal Sayouti, welcomed the remarkable participation of women in this parade, which embodies the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between Morocco, Spain, and Portugal to ensure the success of the 2030 World Cup.
“Bikers from all regions of Morocco, notably from Tetouan, Meknes, Agadir, Casablanca, and Rabat, gathered around the same goal: to express their pride and support for the Royal Moroccan Football Federation”, she affirmed.
