Rabat.. Launch of the African Cybersecurity Forum

Rabat – The African Cybersecurity Forum kicked off today in Rabat, examining the strategic challenges linked to digital transformation and securing cyberspace in Africa.

This event, organised by the General Directorate for Information Systems Security under the National Defence Administration, under high royal directives, reflects the Kingdom of Morocco's commitment to strengthening cooperation in Africa in the fields of cybersecurity and digital transformation.

This forum, which continues until February 5, and is organised around the theme "Artificial Intelligence and Trusted Cloud as a Pillar for Strengthening Cybersecurity", brings together Moroccan and international experts, including high-level government officials, company directors, cybersecurity professionals, researchers, and academics, to discuss strategic issues related to digital transformation and securing cyberspace in Africa.

The opening of this forum, organised in partnership with "Smart Africa", was attended in particular by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defence Administration, Abdellatif Loudiyi, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, and the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, in addition to heads and representatives of cybersecurity councils from several Arab and African countries.

The forum addresses topics focusing on transformations in the field of cybersecurity and digital resilience on the African continent, securing and improving industrial operations, securing critical infrastructure with a special focus on strategic sectors such as oil and gas, as well as protecting major international events, such as the World Cup and the Olympic Games.

The event programme also includes workshops on the use of artificial intelligence in threat detection, predictive analysis, and security automation within the framework of "DevSecOps", as well as improving risk management and other related issues.

The forum also includes the annual meeting of the African Network of Cybersecurity Authorities, in which the Kingdom of Morocco (General Directorate for Information Systems Security) holds the position of vice-chair, in addition to a high-level meeting on artificial intelligence in Africa, organised under the supervision of "Smart Africa", with the aim of exploring strategic initiatives in this field.
