Organized in execution of High Royal Instructions by Morocco's Directorate General for Information Systems Security (DGSSI), part of the National Defense Administration, the event, held until February 5, features the participation of Moroccan and foreign experts, senior government officials, business leaders, cybersecurity professionals, researchers and academics.
The opening ceremony of the forum, held in partnership with Smart Africa, was attended by Morocco's Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister Delegate in charge of National Defense Administration Abdellatif Loudiyi, Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget Fouzi Lekjaa, Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, as well as presidents and representatives of cybersecurity councils from several Arab and African countries.
Focusing on the strategic issues of digital transformation and securing cyberspace in the continent, the African Cybersecurity Forum addresses topics including transforming cybersecurity and strengthening the continent's digital resilience; securing and optimizing industrial operations, with a focus on strategic sectors such as oil and gas; and protecting major international events, including the World Cup and Olympic Games.
Workshops are also on the schedule, spotlighting the use of artificial intelligence for threat detection, predictive analysis and security automation in DevSecOps, in addition to improving risk management.
In addition, the forum will host the annual meeting of the African Network of Cybersecurity Authorities (ANCA), of which the Kingdom of Morocco (DGSSI) is vice-chair, as well as the high-level meeting on Artificial Intelligence for Africa, initiated under the aegis of Smart Africa.
