It seems that the subject raised by Farouk Mahdaoui, a councillor at the Rabat City Council, last week regarding the suspicion of "offering a bribe to pass professional competency exams" was not going to pass unnoticed, after Fatiha El Moudni, president of the same council, stepped in.
It concerns, initially, the fact that councillor Farouk Mahdaoui, a member of the Federation of the Left, requested during a point of order at the beginning of the extraordinary session of the Rabat City Council on December 12th to open an investigation into the suspicion of "council employees receiving a bribe of seven million centimes in exchange for passing this year's professional competency exams."
In addition to her verbal response to him at the time and her confirmation of the need for "judicial review of the matter" and her admission of its "seriousness," Fatiha El Moudni returned to raise the subject again in an institutional manner, as she sent a letter to Farouk Mahdaoui asking him to "provide her with the documents and evidence he relies on as soon as possible in order to take the necessary legal measures regarding these actions."
The same municipal authority linked the matter to "adherence to the principle of equality before the law, as no transgressions will be tolerated if their validity is proven," reminding the aforementioned councillor that he "confirmed during his intervention publicly that he possesses evidence proving these allegations," according to the text of the document.
Reacting to the subject, Farouk Mahdaoui confirmed that he had received the letter addressed to him by Fatiha El Moudni, president of the Rabat City Council, and said: "I will respond to it at the appropriate time in accordance with what is required and stipulated by the laws and regulations in force."
In response to whether he continues to insist on what he raised on December 12th regarding the need to open an investigation into the suspicion of "council employees receiving a bribe of seven million centimes in exchange for passing professional competency exams," the same member confirmed this to Hespress, saying that "the team he belongs to in the council will not remain silent on this matter and will continue to defend the integrity of the professional competency exams."
