Overnight stays in classified tourist accommodation establishments (EHTC) increased by nearly 4% in the city of Rabat at the end of September 2024, according to the Tourism Observatory.
Thus, a total of 626,752 overnight stays were recorded during the first nine months of the year, compared to 604,757 during the same period in 2023, with an occupancy rate of 51%, compared to 52% at the end of September 2023, according to statistics from the Tourism Observatory in Morocco for the month of September.
This performance was also accompanied by an increase in terms of arrivals at Rabat-Salé airport during the period from January to September 2024, with 453,862 entries, compared to 323,669 at the end of September 2023, an increase of 40% year-on-year.
For the month of September alone, the total number of overnight stays in Rabat's EHTCs increased by 7%, with 72,814 overnight stays compared to 68,226 in September 2023.
On the other hand, the volume of arrivals at Rabat-Salé airport reached 46,185 entries in September, up 50% compared to the same month last year (30,789 entries).
Nationally, the volume of overnight stays in classified tourist accommodation establishments in Morocco recorded an increase of 10% at the end of September 2024.
This increase was driven by a 16% increase in overnight stays by international tourists, while domestic tourism saw a slight decrease of 2%, according to the Observatory's statistics.
