In a statement to the press, following a meeting with the Head of Government, Abdelilah Benkirane, Wendy Sherman stressed that the consolidation of the ties uniting the two countries responds to the common vision of H.M. King Mohammed VI and President Barack Obama who agreed, during their recent telephone conversation, to intensify political consultation and to strengthen bilateral relations within the framework of the Strategic Dialogue. Furthermore, the American official indicated having discussed with Benkirane economic issues and the political and democratic reforms underway in Morocco, as well as ways to promote bilateral relations. During this meeting, which took place in the presence of the Minister of State, Abdellah Baha, the two parties welcomed the secular relations of friendship existing between the two countries and reiterated their determination to consolidate bilateral cooperation in all areas, indicates a statement from the Head of Government's department. On this occasion, Benkirane reviewed the political and economic reforms undertaken by the government, under the enlightened leadership of H.M. King Mohammed VI, which reforms have established the Kingdom as a distinguished model in the region, adds the same source.
