30 rapid intervention vehicles handed over in Rabat

A batch of 30 rapid intervention vehicles was handed over on Thursday in Rabat to the Rabat-Salé-Skhirat-Témara-Khémisset police prefecture, in order to provide logistical support to enable security services to strengthen their coverage of the region, particularly forest areas, beaches located near the capital and the Medinas. These modern vehicles, handed over to the capital's police during a ceremony in Rabat, in the presence of the Minister of the Interior, Mohand Laenser, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Interior, Charki Draiss, and the Director General of National Security, Bouchaib Rmail, were acquired by the Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaërs Regional Council and the Rabat prefecture council for an amount of 9,190,800 DH. Speaking on this occasion, the Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaërs region, governor of the Rabat prefecture, Hassan Amrani, stressed that this commendable initiative stems from the commitment and conviction of elected bodies regarding the role of security as a vector for social and economic development, adding that security is a shared responsibility that calls upon all actors in society, both public and private. He reiterated, in this regard, the essential role of all social actors, particularly local authorities and civil society, in supporting the efforts undertaken by National Security in the fight against delinquency, the promotion of citizenship values and civic education. For his part, the Rabat police prefect, Mustapha Moufid, affirmed that the acquisition of this batch of modern vehicles, which comes within the framework of a partnership agreement with the Regional Council and the Rabat prefecture council, will allow for the strengthening of the National Security services' mobile fleet and the improvement of the territorial presence of security forces and their interventions, which will gain in speed and efficiency, with a significant impact in terms of fighting crime. This ceremony took place in the presence of the governors of the prefectures of Salé, Skhirat, Témara and Khemisset, the presidents of the Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaërs Regional Council and the city and prefecture councils of Rabat, as well as other civil and military personalities.
