The prefectural committee for human development of the Rabat wilaya, meeting on Tuesday, approved 52 projects, within the framework of the National Initiative for Human Development for a total amount of 308 million dirhams.
The programme, benefiting 37,678 people, aims at the fight against social exclusion in urban areas, the fight against precariousness, the promotion of income-generating activities and the qualification of the youth, sports, commerce and social services sectors.
Concerning the promotion of income-generating and employment activities, 13 projects, benefiting 326 young people, 50% of whom are women, have received the support of the INDH for an amount of 4 million 620 thousand dirhams.
The adopted INDH programme also aims at the realisation of 6 socio-educational centres, dedicated to women and children in precarious situations for an amount of 114 million 909 thousand dirhams, 4 projects aimed at strengthening access to health services for an amount of 9 million 750 thousand dirhams and 3 other projects dedicated to strengthening sports and cultural infrastructure for an amount of 47 million 807 thousand dirhams, aiming on the one hand at the creation of two sports complexes located respectively in the Youssoufia and Yacoub Mansour districts and on the other hand, the development of a youth centre in the Hassan district.
With the aim of strengthening and improving the services offered to people with specific needs, the adopted programme also provides for the realisation of a new centre in the Youssoufia district, for an amount of 700 million dirhams.
The Secretary General of the wilaya, Abdelkrim Benezha, stressed, on this occasion, the interest that the wilaya attaches to the promotion of employment, through initiatives aimed at setting up qualification and vocational training centres and the creation of cooperatives and small businesses. He recalled, in this sense, the new orientations relating to the second phase of the INDH, particularly putting the emphasis on the promotion of employment and allocating in this regard 40% of the credits of the transversal programme to income-generating activities.
Mr. Benezha also urged the various social actors to federate efforts and multiply actions capable of allowing the promotion of employment, the strengthening of access to basic social services and the improvement of the social conditions of the destitute populations.
