Training session for the benefit of itinerant fish merchants

A training session was initiated on Thursday in Rabat for the benefit of 130 itinerant fish merchants as part of an operation to structure the informal sector and promote employment.

Falling within the framework of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), this training will be crowned by the distribution, for the benefit of the beneficiaries, of three-wheeled vehicles equipped with isothermal boxes, at a cost of 3.9 million DH, financed by the Wilaya of Rabat-Salé-Zémmour-Zaër in cooperation with the Partnership for Progress Agency and the Association of Itinerant Fish Merchants, indicates a press release from the Wilaya.

This initiative, which aims to structure the activity of these merchants and improve their income, includes modules focusing in particular on strengthening the managerial and behavioural skills of the beneficiaries, in terms of micro-enterprise management, marketing techniques, hygiene and product quality, as well as road safety.

Furthermore, the Wilaya has initiated a project entitled "Training-Insertion" aimed at opening up broad work perspectives for young people in search of employment.

Three hundred people benefited from the 1st phase of this project, carried out in partnership with the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC) and the Office of Vocational Training and Promotion of Work (OFPPT).

Regarding the promotion of income-generating activities, the Wilaya adopts a strategy aimed at boosting the social economy, strengthening capacities, and transcending financial and organisational obstacles, according to the press release.
