A training session on Technology Transfer Skills was recently organised at the headquarters of the National Centre for Scientific and Technical Research (CNRST).

This training, initiated by the Moroccan German Business Club in partnership with the Morconnexx Foundation Association and with the support of the GIZ CIM programme (German Agency for International Cooperation) and the CNRST, benefited about twenty participants from the world of universities, R&D structures, the banking sector and business, a statement from the organisers indicates. Delivered by two German experts, this training session focused mainly on "intellectual property", "the role of intellectual protection bodies", "the interest of using related databases as sources of innovation in Moroccan SMEs" and "the avenues of exploitation offered by patents for the development of businesses and the national economy".

The experts explained in their interventions the different methods of protecting innovative ideas, whether it is an industrial product, a design, graphic characters, a new plant variety or even a computer development programme or an artistic, scientific or literary production, the same source highlights.

They dwelt on industrial trademarks and intellectual property rights of manufactured or technical products, as well as the steps to be followed by the inventor to ensure their protection, while insisting on the need for their examination by the office in charge of industrial protection before deciding on their protection.

Furthermore, the two experts presented the form and the necessary explanations relating to the understanding of patents and, on the other hand, the content of patents in order to facilitate their understanding. The use of databases and their classification as well as research techniques, supported by practical workshops, were also presented by the two experts.

The Moroccan German Business Club is a private club that brings together exclusively actors from the fields of economy, science, art and politics of both countries, wishing to provide added value by offering expertise in terms of ideas and action.
