Rabat hosts the 6th edition of the Children's Festival

The 6th edition of the Children's Festival opened on Saturday in Rabat with a carnival parade led by nearly 1,000 children and 30 groups representing, through their costumes, the different regions of the Kingdom.

The parade set off in a festive atmosphere from the headquarters of the Hassan district, criss-crossing Moulay Slimane and Mohammed V avenues to arrive at the Grande Poste square.

This edition, which is part of the celebration of the 9th anniversary of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, represents an opportunity intended to confer more support and interest on the child and a call to all those in charge of the field of education to contribute to the consecration of the values of citizenship among Moroccan childhood, declared the director of the Festival, Abdelilah Doghmi, to MAP.

Organised by the Rabat-Hassan District Council under the theme "Citizenship: principles and ethics," this 6th edition sees the participation of nearly 50 Associations and about 1,000 children, he specified, adding that this event aims, among other things, to develop the sense of imagination, creativity, and invention in the child.

The programme of the Festival, which will continue until June 18, notably provides for the organisation of several workshops dedicated to theatre and the 7th art, in addition to an exhibition of children's books, a colloquium on "the child and local affairs," and a competition in the field of the environment.
