First intercontinental flight of the Solar Impulse aircraft
The Swiss experimental solar aircraft Solar Impulse will begin its first intercontinental flight today from Switzerland to Morocco, a distance of 2,500 km without a drop of fuel, organisers announced on Wednesday.Solar Impulse is expected to arrive at Madrid-Barajas airport at 02:00 (00:00 GMT) on Friday morning. The organisers reserve the possibility of cancelling the flight depending on weather conditions. Rabat will be its final destination.
