This study is in direct line with the prerogatives of the Council, which ensures the conditions for a national debate on the implementation of the provisions of the Constitution are met and mobilises all stakeholders concerned with this major national project, a statement from the CNDH indicated on Sunday.
The objective of this study, which will be presented on the occasion of the celebration of International Women's Day, is to draw on international best practices in the fight against discrimination and to develop, with the assistance of the stakeholders concerned, a frame of reference for the Authority for Parity and the Fight against All Forms of Discrimination, in terms of prerogatives, mandate, composition, and organisational structure, with a view to introducing and facilitating the legislative process aimed at the promulgation of the organic law for the implementation of this body, the same source added.
Article 19 of the Constitution, adopted on 1 July 2011, stipulates that "the Moroccan State works towards the realisation of parity between men and women. To this end, an Authority for Parity and the Fight against All Forms of Discrimination is created".
